- To request an SSH Key, open a ticket for Engineering in the SYS ADMIN category. Assign to System Admin Kendal Montgomery.
- You will need to open a terminal for this next step. On Mac you can get to this by COMMAND + SPACEBAR and searching for “Terminal”. Our System Admin, Kendal Montgomery, will send you the key generator to utilize on the command line upon opening the terminal up.
- Follow the prompts. The first prompt will ask you for a key location. You will just hit ENTER to accept the default. The next prompt you will need to enter a Passphrase, which you will need to create. Go to your Keeper extension, create a new record, next to the password field, click the Dice icon to generate a random password and make sure the passphrase is set to at least length 16. Copy and paste this Passphrase into your terminal and make sure save it to Keeper in case you need to reference it again in the future.
- You will then need to retrieve the public file (denoted by ending in .pub) that you just generated. This file will need to be sent to our System Admin, Kendal Montgomery. To locate this file go to “Finder” → “Settings” → “Sidebar” → And ensure everything in the Sidebar has a checkmark next to it.
- Then hit COMMAND + SPACEBAR and on the left side select your Macintosh HD, go to “Users”, select your name, then hit COMMAND + SHIFT + .(period). This should unhide all your hidden folders. Locate the folder titled .ssh. Then locate the file ending in .pub that you just generated and send to our System Admin, Kendal Montgomery.
