Q: Why do I need to set up UTM / tracking templates?
Clarivoy uses these tags to give full attribution for paid search & social campaigns.
Without proper tagging, traffic won’t be classified correctly — some campaign credit may be lost.
Q: What tracking parameters / tags are required?
For Google Ads: use ValueTrack parameters plus a dynamic campaign tag.
For other ad sources: utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign on all destination URLs.
Q: What should “source”, “medium”, and “campaign” represent?
utm_source → where the ad shows up (Google, Facebook, email vendor, etc.)
utm_medium → how the ad was delivered (cpc, display, email, video, etc.)
utm_campaign → identifies the campaign: offer name, event, timing, etc., so you know what you’re measuring.
Q: What does “dealer_vendor” mean / how is it used?
dealer_vendor is an extra tag we ask you to include (particularly in Google Ads templates) so we know which agency or vendor is running the campaign.
Q: If I already have tracking templates in my ad platform, what should I do?
Don’t rebuild from scratch — just add utm_campaign={_campaigndetail} to your existing template’s URL suffix, and then define that tag at the campaign level.
Q: How do I set this up in Google Ads?
Full instructions can be found at at this link
Q: What are example UTM tag formats I can use?
Paid Search (e.g. Bing):
...?utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=cpo&dealer_vendor=agenc yname
Social:
...?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=campaign_name
Email:
...?utm_source=email_vendor&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=campaign_nam e
Video:
...?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=campaign_name
Q: How soon will I see reporting after setting this up?
Once the Clarivoy tag is live and your campaigns are running with the correct tags, the reports begin. There may be a short delay for data to accumulate.
Q: Who to contact or where to find help if I’m still stuck?
